History

American Prospector was started in 2003 by Steve Eastman.

A prospector at heart, he had trouble finding the information and equipment he needed for his hobby. As he attempted to fill his personal prospecting needs, he discovered that many others were finding--or not finding--the same thing. The hobby turned into a business, and, as they say, the rest is history.

Now, American Prospector is a hub of activity for the prospecting community of the Northwest. With just about every product you can imagine and a community of people who love to share their stories and experience, this new web site is here to serve that community.
